About Xavian Draper
Xavian Draper, 42, was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and grew up in Tennessee, Florida and Alabama. He holds a Bachelor of Operations Research from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master's in Computer Systems Technology from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. Following 14 years on active duty with the U.S. Air Force, including time in Iraq and Afghanistan, he continues service to his country today as a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, with assignments to the Joint Staff and, currently, as commander of a communications squadron. He graduated from the Air Force's Air War College in 2013. Xave, as he is known to friends and family, is married to a pediatrician practicing in Hampton Roads and with whom he is raising four beautiful children in Newport News.
Xave is dissatisfied by the current practice of political leaders to stray from representing their fellow citizens in favor of personal aggrandizement, power, and wealth -- flowing from their corporate cronies and the uber-rich and powerful with personal agendas. He detests the ultimate exploitation of those same citizens.
Xave is running for Congress as a result of his deep concern for the future of our state and our country. He sees that most Republicans and Democrats are no longer true to their creeds. He understands that the parties themselves are self-serving and power-hungry organizations more concerned with maintaining their power than maintaining good government. He wants to give Virginians a different option-one based on limiting the intrusion of government into private lives, reducing wastefulness of our tax dollars and restoring our nation's power without interfering in the affairs of others.
Having knowledge and experience gained from a career serving in the U.S. military, he is adamant that future members of our military forces only be put in harm's way for the purpose of protecting us all-not just to save a politician's image.
He wants each law evaluated and measured by the same objective yardstick: Is it allowed by the Constitution? Can we afford it? Is it fair and non-discriminatory? He intends to publish online the reason behind his every vote.
Xavian Draper is the best choice to represent us in Congress. It is time to support a candidate who is not beholden to a political party, but who is avowed and committed to you, the Virginia citizen, and to our great nation. Voting for the status quo leaves you with the status quo. The future of our country and our children is now too fragile and too important to leave to the whims of political parties.
